"When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments. Here was a machine
of precision and balance for the convenience of man. And (unlike subsequent inventions for
man’s convenience) the more he used it, the fitter his body became.  Here, for once, was a
product of man’s brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm
or irritation to others".

G'day Aaron, Trail-mix was the bomb! Brilliant to meet you and Ralph at Tokatee Lake, Oregon. We made it up the long "push" to Diamond Lake still smiling, looking for more - and we got it a couple of days later - snow at the Crater Lake rim. We're setting off from Mt Shasta tomorrow. Heading up, up, up into the Sierra Nevada. Hope to meet you again en route or, in Mexico later this year. Best wishes, Scott y Ems

Hi Aaron, nice website. We met briefly on the Smith River. The offer stands if you want to stop here, there is room to pitch a tent or a guest room, whichever you prefer. We are just South of Arcata. The number is 707-826-9722. Good luck and safe riding, Uzi

OMG! Good to hear that tree stopped your fall! No more crazy antics like that, you've got miles to log. :) Take care and keep the updates comin! Aloha, Walter

It was great talking with you the other day . . . I'm the guy with the trials bike and lousy map-reading skills! Hope your trek into Bend was a good one.

Hey Aaron! Haven't heard much about the knee in your reports. I assume that's a good sign. If you end up going to NZ, there's good biking north of Auckland out to Cape Reinga including something like 90km of rideable beach. As to your current route -- Godspeed thru the boring bits!

Aaron! Miss you at the shop. I love being "out there" with you. Thanks for bringing the world to us, when we are not there ourselves. NZ in October will be perfect - spring! South Island is awesome. Be sure to cycle into Golden Bay. And then hit the Pancakes out on the West Side. You'll see.

Can I just please THANK YOU all for those that have opened your homes and your heart's for my brother. I can promise you, as his family we worry and are concerned everyday of his trip. Although we are so proud and in awe of everything he is doing and following his dreams and passion, there is a certain extent of worry, we as family will never get over! Holly and Nick, thank you for your kindness, you are blessed and loved. Thank you all for your support and kind words for Aaron. I love reading the blogs and reading about the caring hearts of so many. Aaron truly is blessed to have met you all!

Aaron, loving the diary, and pics just get better and better. Was interested in your meeting with the japanese cyclist as I was chatting on Skype earlier to two global cyclists in Japan whom I had told you about. So I have forwarded your diary page to them, cos I'm sure they will know each other. I am even more envious of your trip just now because I had a nasty crash on my mtb yesterday and had to be ambulanced to A&E Hospital! Dislocated clavicle and other injuries, bummer! May be off the bike for some time...and off work(self employed decorator) for even longer! So keep up the adventure tales, you'll be keeping this temporary couch potato's spirits up, Arthur
